Gemini in Google Workspace can now read your HubSpot, QuickBooks or Asana data

Google has switched on third-party connectors for Gemini in Docs, Sheets, Gmail or Chat, so you can ask about CRM, accounting or project data without leaving the app you are working in.

Google has added seven third-party connectors to Gemini in Workspace: Monday, Salesforce, Asana, Atlassian Rovo, HubSpot, Intuit Mailchimp and Intuit QuickBooks. The connections use the Model Context Protocol, the same open standard the other AI vendors have adopted, and they are available now on both rapid and scheduled release tracks.

In practice it means the Gemini side panel in Docs, Sheets, Slides or Chat can answer questions using data that lives in those tools. Google's example is being able to get at the information without switching tabs or downloading a file. It is on for eligible users by default, and admins manage it in the Admin console under Gemini for Workspace, then Third-Party Connectors, at domain, organisational unit or group level. It covers Business and Enterprise editions along with the Google AI Pro and Ultra consumer plans.

If your business runs on Google Workspace and one of those seven tools, this is the first time the two halves can talk to each other without an automation platform in between. Drafting a client email in Gmail with the deal notes from HubSpot, or a board summary in Docs with figures from QuickBooks, becomes a question you ask rather than a copy-and-paste job.

The default-on setting is the thing to check today. Because the feature is enabled for eligible users automatically, staff may already be able to query your CRM and accounting data through Gemini. That is fine if your Workspace admin has decided it should be, and worth a conversation if nobody has. The Admin console lets you restrict it to specific groups, which is a sensible starting point.

Google has been steadily making its AI useful with the data you already have. This update is a good example, and it is cheap to try on one team before you roll it wider.
