Gemini in Google Slides now edits the whole deck at once, like find-and-replace that understands what you meant
By Brett Gavaghan, Founder of Adaptd ·
Gemini in Google Slides can now change many slides, or a whole presentation, from one prompt. It started rolling out on 29 October for Business Standard and up, in English.
The short version
- Gemini in Google Slides can now change many slides or a whole presentation from a single prompt in the side panel.
- It started rolling out on 29 October 2026 to Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and Google AI Pro and Ultra.
- Try it on a deck that needs a style refresh, then check the change summary and version history before you send it.
Every business has that deck. Forty slides, four fonts and a logo from two rebrands ago. Gemini in Google Slides can now tidy the lot from one instruction.
What changed in Gemini in Google Slides?
Gemini in Google Slides can now edit multiple slides, or an entire presentation, from one prompt in the Slides side panel. Gemini works out which slides need to change and makes the edits directly on your normal, editable slides.
Google's examples include refreshing fonts, backgrounds and colours across a deck, updating content using files from your Google Drive, squeezing slides 5 to 7 into one, and making every title the same size and colour. You can also ask it to match the style of another presentation, which is handy when head office finally sends the new template.
Who can use it, and when?
Gemini whole-deck editing started rolling out on 29 October 2026 to Google Workspace Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, Google AI Pro and Ultra, and Google AI Pro for Education. Google says it may take more than 15 days to reach every account.
It works in English only at launch, and there's no admin switch for it. Workspace customers also get higher promotional limits for multi-slide edits until at least 1 December 2026, after which per-user limits apply.
Should your business use it?
Gemini whole-deck editing is worth a try if your team already pays for Business Standard or above and builds decks in Slides. Pick a real deck that needs a refresh and let Gemini do the dull consistency pass.
My take: read the summary of changes Gemini shows in the side panel, because its edits land as if you made them. Undo and version history will get you back if it gets a bit creative. On Business Starter? This one isn't on your plan.
The slides will finally match. Whether the content does is still your department.
