Claude for Small Business now talks to Xero and MYOB, plus 25 other tools

Anthropic has added 43 ready-made workflows and 27 integrations to its small business plugin, including the accounting software, payment platforms and CRMs most Australian businesses already run on.

Anthropic has expanded Claude for Small Business, the plugin it launched in May for its Cowork desktop app. The update adds 43 workflows and 27 new integrations, and Anthropic says the plugin has been installed more than 900,000 times since launch.

The integrations are the part worth reading closely. The list includes Xero, MYOB, Intuit QuickBooks, Shopify, Square, Stripe, PayPal, HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Gusto, DocuSign, Canva, Notion, monday.com, Zoom, Zapier, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Anthropic says the workflows now reach past back-office admin into lead generation and proposals. The plugin is available on all paid Claude plans, with the Team plan recommended where more than one person will use it, and it is installed from Claude Academy.

For a midsize business the change is that Claude can now read from and act on the systems that hold your real numbers, rather than working from whatever you paste into a chat. Ask it to prepare a proposal and it can pull the client history from your CRM. Ask about cash position and it can look at the books. That closes the gap between an assistant that talks about your business and one that works inside it.

Connecting an AI tool to your accounting software deserves the same care as giving a new staff member the login. Start with read access where the integration offers it, connect one system at a time, and check what Claude produces against the source for the first few weeks. Anthropic's own case studies quote large time savings, and they will vary a lot by business.

If you already pay for Claude and run Xero or MYOB, the connection is now a settings change rather than a project. That is a reasonable afternoon's experiment.
