Claude Enterprise's smart reports show what your teams really use AI for, beyond "emails, mostly"
By Brett Gavaghan, Founder of Adaptd ·
Anthropic has released smart reports, in-app surveys and shared team budgets for Claude Enterprise. Together they show where AI is helping and what it costs.
The short version
- Claude Enterprise now has smart reports, in-app surveys and pooled group budgets for admins.
- All three became generally available on 28 October 2026 for Claude Enterprise only, not the Team or Pro plans.
- Smaller businesses can borrow the survey questions and ask their team the same things in a simple form.
Most businesses that roll out AI can tell you how many licences they pay for. Far fewer can tell you what anyone actually does with them.
What's new in Claude Enterprise?
Claude Enterprise has three new admin tools: smart reports, in-app surveys and pooled group budgets. Anthropic made them generally available on 28 October 2026.
Smart reports look at a sample of a team's conversations with Claude over a date range and group the work into workstreams, with the spend, deliverables and common sticking points for each, such as a missing connector. Each report ends with recommendations, like recurring jobs worth turning into skills. Anthropic says the reports aren't meant for judging individual performance.
What do the surveys and budgets do?
In-app surveys ask team members short questions as a card after a Claude reply. The default questions cover the most valuable thing they've done with Claude lately, how much time it changed, what a teammate should copy, and what would break first if access disappeared. Answers export to a spreadsheet.
Pooled group budgets give a team one shared monthly budget, so heavy users don't run out early while others leave theirs unspent. Individual limits still apply, and billing admins get email alerts at 50%, 75%, 95% and 100%.
Should your business care?
Your business should care about the idea even if you're nowhere near an Enterprise plan. These tools are Enterprise only, so Team and Pro customers won't see them.
My advice: steal the survey questions. Put them in a Google Form, send it to your team, and you'll learn more about your AI spend in ten minutes than a licence count tells you in a year. The "what would break if we lost it" question is the one that tells you whether you're paying for a tool or a habit.
And I didn't even send you an invoice for that one.
