Firefox's Smart Window now fills in forms from your open tabs and watches web pages, so you can stop hitting refresh

Mozilla added form filling and page watching to Firefox's Smart Window on 27 October. It's a desktop beta in the US and Canada for now, with more countries planned.
The short version
- Firefox's Smart Window can now suggest form answers from tabs you pick, and check web pages for changes you describe.
- It's in the desktop Smart Window beta in English in the US and Canada, with more countries planned in the coming months.
- Australian businesses can't use it yet, but it's worth knowing what data the form filler sends and where.
Most of us have typed the same business details into a web form so many times we could do it asleep. Firefox now wants to do it for you.
What changed in Firefox's Smart Window?
Firefox's Smart Window, the browser's opt-in AI mode, gained two features on 27 October 2026: form filling from your open tabs and page watching. Click into a form with at least four text fields and choose Fill from sources, pick the tabs to use, then review the suggestions. It never submits the form for you.
Page watching starts when you type /watch in the Smart Window chat. Each task checks up to five pages daily or weekly, but only while Firefox is open.
Who can use it, and what are the limits?
The features are in the Smart Window beta on desktop, in English, in the US and Canada, with other markets coming in the coming months. Form filling handles text fields only, not dropdowns or PDFs.
Mozilla says information from the pages you choose is sent to Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite model to fill the form. You can run up to 15 watch tasks, and they pause after 60 days without a change.
Should your business use it?
Your business can't use it in Australia yet, so treat it as a preview of where browsers are heading. Watching a supplier's price list or a tender page is the obvious job.
My advice: before any AI fills forms for you, keep one plain document of the business details you're happy to share. Leave bank details and tax file numbers out of it.
Software, eh? It finally does the boring bit, and you still have to proofread it.
