Notion agents now suggest edits instead of making them

Notion has given its agents a suggestion mode. The agent proposes changes to a page and you accept or reject them line by line.

Notion has added Suggest Edits for agents. An agent working on one of your pages can now propose changes rather than writing them straight in. You review the proposal and approve it line by line. Notion points to grammar corrections and detailed revisions as the obvious uses.

The mechanics are the part worth noticing. Until now, handing a document to an agent meant handing over the document. If it rewrote a paragraph you liked, your options were version history or doing it again. A suggestion sits next to the original text until a person decides, which is how review already works between two colleagues.

For a midsize business this is the difference between an agent you can use on real client material and one you can only use on drafts. Meeting notes, a proposal, a policy page, a price list: these are documents where being roughly right is not good enough, and where the person accountable for the content wants to see what changed before it goes out.

It does move the work rather than remove it. Someone still has to read the suggestions, and a long list of small ones is easy to approve without looking. Give the agent a narrow job, such as tightening one section or fixing consistency, and it stays reviewable. Ask it to improve a whole page and you will click accept out of fatigue.

Suggestion mode is the setting to reach for whenever an agent touches a page that a client will read.
