Claude in Slack can now use your own calendar and Drive when you ask it in a channel

Claude Tag, Anthropic's Slack integration, now lets each person use the tools they have connected to their own Claude account. You can check its answer before it posts.

Anthropic has updated Claude Tag, its beta integration that adds Claude to Slack channels. Until now it could only use connectors an admin attached to the whole channel. From 24 September, it can also use the tools you have connected to your own Claude account when you ask it something in a channel.

That means Claude can pull from your calendar, your Google Drive documents, your CRM login or other tools that sit behind your personal account. To control what ends up in front of the channel, you choose between two modes. In review mode you see Claude's answer before it is posted. In auto mode it posts straight away, unless it spots sensitive content, in which case it asks you to review first. The feature is rolling out on Team plans now, with Enterprise to follow, and Enterprise admins can make review mode compulsory for everyone.

For a team that already lives in Slack, this saves a lot of copying and pasting. Someone can ask for the latest version of a proposal or check their availability without leaving the conversation. The risk is that a channel usually has more people in it than the document or calendar being read, so information one person can see may be posted where others can too.

If you run Claude Tag, decide which setting fits before people start using it. For most businesses, review mode is the safer default, especially in channels that include contractors or clients. Admins can also choose tool by tool whether a channel uses shared connectors or personal ones. Anthropic notes that scheduled routines and anything Claude does without a person watching still use the channel's own connectors, so personal connectors are meant for work someone is supervising.

Letting Claude use your own tools in a channel is handy. Read what it is about to post, at least until your team knows what it tends to share.
