Claude Code Review is out of preview, so your code gets checked before your customers do the testing for free
By Brett Gavaghan, Founder of Adaptd ·
Anthropic's Code Review, which uses Claude to check new code before it ships, is now generally available on Claude Team and Enterprise plans. Reviews are about three times faster than in the preview.
The short version
- Claude Code Review is an Anthropic tool that automatically checks new code in GitHub for bugs before it's merged.
- Anthropic made it generally available for Claude Team and Enterprise plans on 15 October 2026, after a research preview.
- If developers build software for your business, ask how their code gets reviewed and whether an AI check would help.
AI lets developers write code faster than ever. Someone still has to read it, and that someone has had a busy year.
What is Claude Code Review?
Claude Code Review is a tool from Anthropic that uses Claude to review code changes before they're added to a project. Once an admin switches it on and installs the GitHub app, it runs automatically on every new pull request, the request a developer makes to add their changes.
Each finding states the problem, what triggers it and the fix, in a few sentences. Anthropic says it runs Code Review on its own pull requests too.
Who can use it, and how fast is it?
Claude Code Review is available on Claude Team and Enterprise plans, and it left research preview on 15 October 2026. Anthropic says most reviews now finish in 6-10 minutes, down from about 20 in the preview.
Admins pick Quick, Standard or Deep for each code repository. That way the website gets a quick pass and the system that takes payments gets the thorough one.
Should your business use it?
Businesses with their own developers on Claude Team or Enterprise should trial Code Review on one repository first. If an agency or contractor builds your software instead, it's still worth asking how their code gets reviewed before it goes live.
My take: an AI reviewer is a useful first pass, not a replacement for a person who knows how your business works. It can spot a bug in the checkout. It can't know that your best customer always orders by phone.
Start with Standard, see what it catches, and keep a human signing off. The cheapest bug is the one your customers never meet.
Wondering what this means for your business?
That's exactly what the discovery call is for.
