Meta's free Muse agent now plugs into Shopify, QuickBooks and Canva, so it can see more than your Instagram

On 30 September Meta launched Muse for Small Business, connecting its AI agent to more than a dozen tools, including Shopify and QuickBooks. It's free with usage limits.

Meta wants to be your business's new offsider, and it has asked for a lot of logins. On 30 September Meta announced Muse for Small Business, which expands its Muse AI agent to small businesses and connects it to software many of them already run on. Muse launched earlier in September and, according to TechBriefly, topped app charts in the US and Canada ahead of ChatGPT.

The list of new integrations is long: Shopify, Stripe, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, HighLevel, Canva, Figma, Notion, Asana, Slack, Dropbox, Box, Zoom, Granola, even Lovable. Muse can also use your Instagram professional account, Facebook page and Meta ad accounts. Meta says it learns what you sell and how your brand talks, picks up the questions customers ask most, and connects to the tools you use for sales, marketing or finance. It's free with usage limits, with paid plans for businesses that need more. Meta says owners told it they're 'short on hours, not ideas', which may be the most accurate market research published this year.

For a business that sells through Instagram and a Shopify store, the appeal is obvious. Instead of flicking between the ads dashboard, the store and the accounts, you could ask one assistant to join the dots, such as which products your recent ads actually helped sell. Think of it as the staff member who knows where everything is kept, minus the long lunches.

My advice: be choosy about what you connect. Every integration is another pile of business data the agent can read, and your finance tool and customer list deserve more thought than your Canva folder. Start with the Meta accounts it already sits next to, check a few of its answers against your real numbers, and only then decide whether it earns a login to QuickBooks or Stripe. Check the usage limits too, before you build a daily habit around the free tier.

Free and connected is a tempting combination. Give it one job and a couple of logins first, and let it earn the rest, the same as anyone new in the business.
