ChatGPT Slides builds your deck inside Space, so the 11pm PowerPoint shift might finally get a night off

By , Founder of Adaptd ·

OpenAI has added Slides to ChatGPT, so teams on paid business plans can build and present decks together, then export them to PowerPoint or Google Slides.

The short version

  • ChatGPT Slides creates presentations from a chat or your files, and lets you edit every slide by hand or by asking.
  • It is rolling out from 16 October 2026 to Pro, Business and Enterprise users with Space access, on web and desktop.
  • Try it on an internal deck first, and write your main point yourself before ChatGPT builds anything.

Most business decks get built late at night by someone fighting text boxes. OpenAI would like ChatGPT to take that shift.

What is ChatGPT Slides?

ChatGPT Slides is a new way to build and present slide decks inside ChatGPT. OpenAI added it on 16 October 2026 as part of Space, the shared team workspace it launched in late September.

You can start from a conversation or your own files, and share an example deck so ChatGPT copies its style and layout. You then edit the slides yourself or ask ChatGPT to make the changes. Teammates can work on the same deck at the same time and leave comments.

Who can use it, and how do you get it out?

ChatGPT Slides is rolling out to eligible users on the paid Pro and Business plans, plus Enterprise, who have Space access, on the web and in the desktop app. Plus and free users don't get it in this rollout.

On the web you can present straight from ChatGPT or export the deck to PowerPoint or Google Slides, and PDF is an option too. The desktop app can open it in PowerPoint or Keynote if you have them installed. To start, ask ChatGPT in Work to create a presentation in Space.

Should your business build decks in ChatGPT?

Your business should try ChatGPT Slides on internal decks first, such as a team update or a project plan, before trusting it with a client pitch. Check every number on every chart against the source, because a tidy chart can still be wrong.

My take: AI is good at layout and bad at knowing your point. Write the one sentence you want the room to remember, give ChatGPT that plus an example deck you like, then edit what comes back. If you already pay for Business, it's worth an afternoon. If you're on Plus, it's no reason to upgrade on its own.

The deck will look better. Whether the meeting gets shorter is still up to you.
