Adobe's photo and design tools now work inside Gemini, and Acrobat is in Claude

From 24 September you can edit photos and designs with Adobe tools from a Gemini chat on any plan, and Adobe's Claude plugin now includes Acrobat for PDF work.

Adobe started a global rollout on 24 September that puts tools from Photoshop, Lightroom, Adobe Express and Firefly inside Google's Gemini assistant. On the same day it added Acrobat to its existing plugin for Anthropic's Claude.

In Gemini, the Adobe tools are available on every Gemini plan. You switch them on under Personal Intelligence by choosing Adobe from the connected apps and signing in with an Adobe account. If you do not have one, you can create one for free. Adobe's examples are practical ones: tidying product photos for a storefront, adapting a design for different social channels, and customising templates for a campaign. In Claude, the plugin now covers more than 80 tools from Adobe apps including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. The Acrobat tools can combine or split files, delete pages, redact sensitive information and convert PDFs to other formats. A new editor lets you reorder pages, edit text and add comments and highlights inside the chat. It works in Claude and Claude Code on desktop, mobile and web.

For a midsize business without a designer on staff, this lowers the effort for small jobs like resizing a product shot or cutting a long PDF down to the pages a client needs. Your team can do them from the assistant they already use.

Be careful with redaction. Check the finished PDF yourself before you send it, and confirm the hidden text is actually removed rather than covered. Guest access in Claude has lower limits, so anyone using it daily will want to sign in with the company's Adobe account instead of a personal one, so the files and usage stay with the business.
